Interactive guidelines are already written for immunizations and nutrition for children under 5 years of age, based on the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness guidelines. These can be expanded in time to other ages.
Community risk assessments could be developed for such things as sanitation and hygiene, vector control of malaria, HIV prevention, and improved nutrition. Tailored recommendations for change based on community factors and preferences could be given. These risk assessments are seen as potential tools for the health worker to generate interest and affect change in his or her community.
